FROM IRELAND
a mystic island,
wreathed in clouds.. and mist.
there is green plains,
green hills.. green everywhere.
sheep.. and rocky scrags.
there are stone walls,
yes, and quaint towns.
scattered houses on hilly ground.
thatched cottages, the grass growing wildly.
unkempt spirit to everything.
wild free,
there is a semblance of tameness.
mournful music.. flutes,
pipes.
soulful, sad, melancholy liquified into music,
followed by dancing that lifts up the spirit,
and whirls through the sky,
never stopping in its merriment,
till all the world is happy.
peace lochs,
green islands, beautiful, and wistful trees.
simple.
life.
the sea, with rocky juts
and celtic spray.
woven garments.
an old people.
an ancient people.
ancient island,
ancient hills, rocks, lakes
structures, ancient doings,
Stonehenge.
Celtic crosses,
old stone Christian edifices.
the work there is made to be enduring
